We’re calling on MPs across parties to show their support for strong enforcement by signing the pledge below.

PLEDGE FOR STRONG ENFORCEMENT

“The rules that help protect the people and places we love are part of what make Britain great. Decent rules, properly enforced, free people up to fulfil their potential and to contribute to their communities. They make sure the food we eat, the products we buy, the air we breathe and the places where we work are safe. They help businesses to compete, safeguard our environment, and protect the vulnerable in society.

The erosion of UK regulatory enforcement undermines the protections that we all take for granted. For my constituents and for the wider public, I pledge to: 1) raise the need for strong enforcement of the rules in Parliament; 2) support calls for adequate funding, independence and powers for UK regulators, so they can fulfil their duties; 3) support efforts to strengthen and reinvest in the UK’s enforcement capacity, where it is falling short”
